Youth Council: Workforce Investment Board of Tulare County
Building a pipeline of talent
Our Youth Council is a critical sub-committee of the Workforce Investment Board that makes recommendations on youth-related issues. Beyond the practical function of the Youth Council, however, lies the much broader vision of an integrated youth development system responsive to the needs of all youth in Tulare County. It is this vision that drives the Council’s work in connecting youth organizations into a single system providing opportunities for all youth to acquire the skills necessary for successful transition into adulthood, careers and further education and training.
The Youth Council’s mission is to connect youth with opportunities that support:
- Educational achievement
- Post-secondary transition
- Career preparation and employment
- Leadership and personal development
- Personal and community support
