Workforce investments that count

Our Workforce Investment Board (WIB) makes critical investments in workforce training and education so that businesses can compete and prosper. Our strategic priorities include:

  1. High Growth Industry Employment & Training – our stakeholders in business, economic development, education and workforce develop sector-based initiatives that benefit key industries within our region. – More –
  2. Work Readiness Certificate – provides assurance that prospective employees have an acceptable level of soft skills – More –
  3. Pipeline Strategies – building workforce talent is a critical solution to regional brain-drain and keeping local talent to support businesses in our region. – More –
  4. Business Services – Innovate Tulare County is a special initiative comprised of community partners that collaborate to bring a full spectrum of business solutions to our region. – More –
  5. Employment Connection – the WIB provides oversight to the County’s network of One-Stop Centers that offer employment and training services to job seekers and laid off workers. – More –

What's New

2012-2013 One-Stop RFP
The Workforce Investment Board is issuing a Request for Proposals for management and operations of the Tulare County One-Stop Centers. The RFP and all required attachments are available for download here.

The Enterprise Zone is LIVE!
The Sequoia Valley Enterprise Zone was formally approved by the State of California, and Tulare County businesses can now take advantage of these incentives. Download a presentation outlining the program here.

WIB Seeking Local Small Manufacturers
The WIB is seeking small, local manufacturers interested in no-cost training for their employees. Training includes topics such as PLC, Leadership, Written Communication, and Industrial Painting.. Email us for more information.
