Board Committees
WIB Executive Committee is a minimum seven member group comprised of three elected officers, three elected Directors, the immediate past WIB Chair, and the Chairs of each committee and council, if applicable. The Executive Committee meets six times a year and has the authority to conduct business and reach decisions if the Board of Directors is not in session.
Program Committee provides for development and implementation of WIB objectives including but not limited to design of the local workforce investment plan in accordance with WIA directives; program procurement; and provides review and oversight for monitoring and evaluation of activities under the five-year local workforce investment plan as required.
Public Relations/Marketing Committee provides policy and guidance to initiate advertising, public relations and image building which furthers the WIB activities, such as the Employment Connection system, youth projects, and industry specific events. Committee members are appointed by the WIB Chair and are members in good standing. The committee meets quarterly-February, May, August, November-immediately following the full WIB meeting.
Sector Committees represent high growth/high wage/ career path sectors as defined by County economic trends. Committees are chaired by a WIB member with membership made of private sector representatives from each cluster industry. The committees define workforce issues facing each sector, develop and approve Customized Training and Employer Training Panel agreements; serve as an industry advisory group for career technical training; and review WIB expenditures for training within each sector.
Youth Council – focuses on building a pipeline of skilled workers for the region.
